Arapahoe Basin, Loveland open for skiing: Another Colorado ski resort — Arapahoe Basin — fires up the lifts for the first time this season on Thursday, and Loveland follows suit a day later.Arapahoe Basin, located just west of the Continental Divide on U.S. 6, switches on a single lift serving the intermediate High Noon run at 9 a.m. MDT Thursday, with an 18-inch base of natural and machine-made snow.
